My fundraising story: I got my first taste of fundraising in college while working with my campus’s chapter of Circle of Sisterhood, an organization that raises financial resources to remove educational barriers for girls and women facing poverty and oppression. After earning my Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of Georgia, I had the opportunity to work in prospect management with the University of Nebraska Foundation. At UNF, I provided strategic support to our Foundation Relations team, Donor Experience team, Office of Trustee Engagement, and University of Nebraska at Omaha development team.
Why I care about helping nonprofits grow: While the issues of inequity and injustice facing our global community feel daunting, nonprofits make change feel possible. Whether it’s a large scale as reducing racial inequity in a community or as individual as sending a student to college, meaningful philanthropy has the power to shape society and transform lives. I’m excited for the opportunity to help nonprofits become conduits of change through powerful fundraising.
Hobbies: Reading, creative writing, musical theatre, cooking, hot yoga, biking, fawning over my cat
Unusual talent: Flipping furniture! I have several pieces of furniture in my home that I refinished myself.
