My fundraising story: After a my multifaceted career as a Peace Corps Volunteer, travel writer, and international recruiter, I moved back to my childhood home of Hawaiʻi to co-found the nonprofit, Honolulu Biennial Foundation (HBF), which I helped build to become Hawaii’s largest contemporary art festival. As the Executive Director of HBF, I was responsible for all daily operations of the nonprofit, including fundraising, financial oversight, recruiting and empowering a diverse staff, program monitoring and evaluation, and project management. Since 2020, I have consulted for nonprofits to develop sound financial practices, develop and/or strenghten their organizational structure, and create dynamic, long-term fundraising strategies.

Why I care about helping nonprofits grow: Nonprofit people are my people. They not only have the empathy to identify needs in their communities, but they also take action to make them better. Those are the people I want to support.

Hobbies: Herbalism, hiking with my dog, foraging, kayaking, paddleboarding, gardening, art projects
